iPhone 3GS Review

review(iph3g)Introduction:
It’s more than 2 years since Apple brought in the iPhone. Still it’ll be difficult to find a phone that demands more attention. Obviously, Apple wasn’t satisfied and launched the iPhone 3G, and after that the iPhone 3GS.

Looks and features:
The iPhone 3GS features identical width, breadth and depth as the iPhone 3G. But it is available in white and black colors, and comes with a staggering 32GB of memory. Its simple design makes the iPhone the best looking handset in the market. The speed is also close to 2 times better than its predecessor.

Voice control:
Activated by pressing and holding the home button, the voice control feature is prepared to work straight away. Immediately after one synchs one’s contacts with the phone, one can just say an individual’s name to call that individual. One may also select songs through this procedure.

The iPhone 3GS comprises of 11 customizable home screens that may contain close to 159 applications. To see them, one should just swipe a finger to the left and back again. Swiping to the right side when in the main home screen will provide an option for searching everything from apps to song titles to contacts. The landscape QWERTY keyboard disappears during the process but appears while writing e-mails, messages or notes.

Copy and paste and Navigation:
Another useful feature that the iPhone 3GS has is the copy and paste feature. To copy text, one should just press a finger on the text’s area until it highlights in blue and then press the copy option that emerges when the digit is removed. To paste, one has to repeat the same process. It is also possible to copy and paste photos and videos, and if there is a change of mind about what one is pasting, one just has to shake the phone.

The iPhone 3GS requires extraordinary recognition for an almost perfect navigational experience. Working in coincidence with Google Maps, locking a satellite fix is instant. The ‘drop pin’ function is a useful addition, allowing one to flag one’s destination on the map, with the fastest path from one’s present position and then being shown. The enclosure of the digital compass also means the map will always be pointing towards the correct direction, regardless of the direction one is facing.

3-megapixel camera:
Probably one of the iPhone 3GS’ only flaw is the 3 megapixel camera. It is obviously an improvement from the previous version but, as it doesn’t have a flash, low light snaps don’t come out clearly. However, it at least comprises of a video camera. Also, there aren’t enough editing options. But one can upload one’s videos directly into YouTube and the micro phone is also pretty good.
