Socket Mobile, Inc., provider of mobile productivity solutions announced the compatibility of the Apple iPad for the Socket Bluetooth Cordless hand Scanner (CHS) 7X and the CHS 7XRx, which is the antimicrobial equivalent of the 7X.
The CHS 7X and 7XRx, state-of-the-art 2D barcode scanning solutions, which were released in January this year, are portable and extremely light weight. These scanning solutions can fit in a diverse set of application requirements and can be used in a wide range of industries which include retail, hospitality and healthcare.
When the Socket CHS 7XRx is paired with the Apple iPad, it becomes a persuasive system combination for medical markets and healthcare which require tablet-sized screen display and 2D barcode data collection.
Samantha Chu, data collection product manager at Socket Mobile said that there is a lot of potential for the need to add barcode scanning to the Apple iPad. There is a need for this, especially in the healthcare sector where the barcode scanning is used in applications such as pharmacy logistics, material management, patient ID verification and medication administration. She also said that they already had a significant list of devices supported for 2D data collection and that the addition of iPad to this list was a must.
Samantha informed that when the iPad was first announced, they received a lot of developer requests as well as market feedback and they were pleased to make it available and deliver. Socket Mobile Wireless, are expecting the developers to purchase the units for software development and the process of beta, pilot and corporate deployments will begin thereafter.
