Bahraini telecom company, 2connect, was recently listed amongst the top three telecom companies in the middle-east. The so called next generation company was listed along with the other 2 major telecom companies, Zain Group and Oman’s Nawras. It will be competing for the first place with the 2 companies next month in the Arab Investment Summit in Abu Dhabi.
The MD and founder of 2connect, Fahad Al- Shirawi, stated that this was an honor; first for Bahrain and then for 2connect. He mentioned that he had the favorable environment in Bahrain to thank for all the progress he has made in only six years of operation.
Preliminarily, telecom giants such as STC, etisalat, Nawras, Zain, du, Q-Tel and Batelco were considered for the prestigious award. But in the end, 2connect made the cut along with Zain and Nawras. It is also noteworthy that 2connect was the youngest company to make it to the consideration list.
Al- Shiwari also said that this was a result of the vision seen by His Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the crown prince of Bahrain. He mentioned that; had there not been the deregulation that took place six years back, Bahrain would never be the telecommunications hub that it is now turning into. He thanked his staff to help him achieve what he has now and said that it would have been impossible without them. He also stated that he had the Government to thank for all the support he received from it.
Before this achievement, 2connect was nominated for the award for “Best Brand” for 2 years in a row preceding this one. Al- Shiwari credited the ability of 2connect to provide unique products and services for this victory. He also said that 2connect is the only company in the world to offer an actual just-in-time option for delivery for all clients.
